At the Graduate School of Excellence advanced Manufacturing Engineering (GSaME) in Stuttgart, everything revolves around the factory of the future. In their research projects, doctoral candidates prepare the industrial production of today for the challenges of tomorrow.

Industrial production environment is characterized by complex, turbulent and dynamic changes. The acceleration of relocation in production and growth into other areas and structural change worldwide among other processes create a difficult environment to predict the future market. It is challenging be able to prepare for these changes in a short amount of time, and to defray employment losses and costs in innovation.

These are the new challenges, both for researchers, and for local managers. The doctoral degree progam at GSaME trains future leaders, and pepares them to successfully face future challenges. Candidates research focus upon joint topics - in that they are trained to obtain knowledge in their respective areas. Along with the dual training, GSaME provides them with an opportunity to conduct the reasech in the partner companies.
