On this Graduate School

Interdisciplinarity, networking and research training – these are the three keywords the TUM International Graduate School of Science and Engineering – IGSSE is representing. Engineers, natural and medical scientists are working together on topical interdisciplinary research projects. Examples of the conducted research includes finding methods to avoid complications of inward implant growth, the exploration of the mechanic behavior of cells, the question how to evaluate ever growing data volumes faster from day to day - in order to e.g. secure electricity supply or to better forecast natural disasters. Last but not least, the graduate candidates and junior scientists engage in determining the measures necessary to secure our energy demand once the fossil fuels are exhausted. The arising generation of scientists at IGSSE is prepared to create a surplus out of their scientific ideas for society, whether it will be in the industrial sector, the academic domain or in other parts of professional life.
