Chiara researches at the library at the University of Constance. Since the library is open around the clock, Chiara is able to study whenever she pleases; 24 hours a day. However, it is not only humanist scholars who enjoy these working conditions. Sonja von Aulock is able to clear her head here for her research of the human immune system. She brings her daughter to the „Knirps-Kindergarten“ on campus. Being family friendly is one of the founding pillars of the Future Concept in Constance. An environment that creates and fosters creativity – this is how excellent research is funded. Across generations, scientists should not only be funded financially - but should also be free of administrative tasks to focus entirely on their projects. Malte Drescher also has the possibility to do so here. He is developing new appliances to detect nano structures. This helps other scientists in return - who profit from the interdisciplinary work.
